Google via its RechargeIT program, has now stake $2.75 million on two companies trying to create plug-in hybrids and electric cars to become reality: Aptera Motors and ActaCell. There are in fact has two configurations. First is an all electric configuration that gets 120 (190km) miles for each charge and the second one is the 230 mpg hybrid. Both the electric and hybrid version of the Aptera 2e can get to speeds in excess of 85 mph. The car will also go from 0-60 in below 10 seconds. Aptera 2e has get to pre-production and is planned to start being manufactured in October of 2009. All-electric model will cost 27,000$ and the series plug-in hybrid version will be put on the market for 30,000$.
